Touch down Harris hawk

Our MoCap studio has been used to track and analyse data from over 25,000 flights of birds, for analysis of the learning, optimisation, and control of complex flight behaviours in unprecedented detail.

Use our facility

Motion Capture System

Our facility has a Vicon motion capture system, which tracks retro reflective markers in the scene 120 times a second (higher rates possible for smaller capture volumes), using 22 motion capture cameras. We have various options for recording reference video.

Facility

The motion capture system is installed in a room that has a 20m by 6m floor area and a pitched ceiling. Our standard capture volume covers 14m x 4m x 3m (LxWxH).

Location

We are located at the field station at Wytham, near Oxford, just off the A34 and within 4 miles of Oxford station and Oxford Parkway.
